Tropico 6 is probably the hardest game, it is legitimately hard to maintain a stable/large economy, it took me about 50 hours of playing to figure out the best combination of agricultural/industrial buildings and even then, I still have had times where I border on economic collapse because of embargo or other things. Invasions in Tropico 5 were pretty easy to counter as long as you had guard towers and tanks. This was more of an oversight than a gameplay feature. Rebels in Tropico 5 attacked way too often, it was like you were always in a civil war. Tropico 5 is not difficult economically, the main difficulty from Tropico 5 comes from the huge rebellions that happened every month. Invasions weren't even part of the game as invasion meant endgame. Tropico 3/4 were moderately difficult, having a large/stable economy and keeping rebels/uprisings at bay is genuinely difficult for most people, and especially when you first start playing the game. Tropico 6 is just managing industry and exports until modern era, then its "infinite money ♥♥♥♥around party" with no goal, challenge or direction I remember tropico 5 being much harder than this. I don't understand, i can't be that good at the game. I only rarely have to fend off an ultimatum Praising and Super Party edict and gourmet restaurants make it easy to keep all foreign powers happy enough to not attack. Aside from maybe possibly getting invaded once in the world wars era, nobody really cares beyond that. You can just buy tons of relations boosts, convincing talks and distractions, and the factions aren't a problemĪlso never an issue. Build a couple banks set to slush funds and you've got basically infinite money for broker. Most importantly, the broker trivializes faction relations. Only the demands to change the constitution are really inconvenient and i usually just discard those and make it up elsewhere. Make a hang gliding platform? Ill just stick it in the tourist area. Yea their demands can get annoying, but most of the time demands are something i was planning to do anyways.īuild an office? Sure. There's a minor financial defecit caused by crime on the ledger, but its too insignificant compared to my rent and exports to care about Sometimes i build a police station, most of the time i forget, because there just seems to be no reason to. i effectively pulled a military out of my♥♥♥♥♥just when i needed it. They were defeated by soldiers from the army base I immediately quickbuilt. In my last game i went from world wars to modern with a near permanant 4% approval rating, refused every call for an election, made no attempt to supress/arrest/kill rebels, and i didn't even have a military at all.Īnd as a result i got attacked by rebels exactly once, in about 70 years. They seem to be severely nerfed since tropico 5. Does this game even have them? I seem to remember T5 having flooding at least no tsunamis or storms or earthquakes or floods or volcanoes, The closest thing thats ever happened is buildings going up in flames, but my firemen automatically put that out, i don't have to do anything. A lot of other factors that should add difficulty seem to be either very weak or not there.ĭisasters? I've never seen a single one. Money shouldn't be the only difficulty, but it is. With hydroponic plantations, your agricultural output suddenly triples, every business is booming, and its easy to get >100k per container ship at the docks. Sometimes i've had to downsize, defund, or delete stuff, on occasion i even had to take a loan.īut money problems completely vanish in the modern era. it can be a struggle to get costs low enough to make a significant profit through exporting, and ill often go into debt for a bit. Money is the only difficulty there is, especially earlygame. Ive probably played about 40 hours by now Two of those three went all the way to the modern era, where i had essentially won, drowning in money, nothing left to do, all research complete, etc. I played 5 a lot, and by comparison i've got to say that tropico 6 is seriously lacking on the difficultyĪt this point, i've completed three runs on T6, one sandbox and two missions.
